The Los Angeles City Charter requires that the City be redistricted at least once every 10 years. It calls for the creation of a twenty-one member Redistricting Commission, which has the authority to make recommendations on a redistricting plan to the City Council that sets boundaries for City Council districts.

At the June meeting of the Harbor Alliance of Neighborhood Council, there was a presentation on the Los Angeles City Council Redistricting Commission. You can view the Power Point Presentation here.
