LADOT Briefs VICA Transportation Committee
Rubina Ghazarian, Associate Transportation Planner II, participated in the Valley Industry Commerce Association (VICA) Transportation Committee meeting this week and presented information about the new Metro Bike Sharing program in Downtown Los Angeles. The pricing structure, service area, and potential for expansion to additional neighborhoods were discussed. Vision Zero promotes pedestrian safety, and the elimination of traffic fatalities by the year 2025. The alliance with another program LADOT supports, Safe Routes to School, is built upon our core values of teamwork and collaboration. Vision Zero uses Safe Routes’ data-driven approach to target specific areas with the greatest need to enhance the safety of our most vulnerable population: youth.
