As a result of Hurricanes Katrina and Sandy, FEMA identified that one of the main issues for seniors, displaced as a result of a major emergency, was their lack of knowledge as to the specific prescription medications they rely on. In our emergency preparedness efforts for our City’s seniors we are offering free one-hour Emergency Preparedness and Your Medications Workshops.  Participants will receive free Go Kits to help them start preparing for an evacuation.

I am delighted to be hosting three workshops in Council District 15, and hope you will have the opportunity to promote them to your constituents:

Wednesday, October 23, 11-12 at Harbor City Library, 24000 S. Western Avenue
or
Wednesday, October 30, 12-1, San Pedro Library, 931 S. Gaffey
or
Wednesday, November 13, 11-12, Wilmington Library, 1300 N. Avalon
